Nice job! This jacket will be my next project – looking for a dove gray fabric.

Thanks for your quick reply! I finally figured out that I had the collar stand on upside-down. That’s what I get for picking a complicated pattern as my first attempt at a collar!

In the second paragraph of the sewing instructions, it says to sew facing seams, but that doesn’t seem right. Did you attach any of the facing before the zipper and the collar?

No, I put in the zipper and then the facings. Though if you were “bagging” the jacket the normal way you would sew the facing and upper collar together before doing the zipper.

That makes a whole lot of sense! Of course, I didn’t figure out how all the facings connected until after I got the collar on. Thanks again for the help! I have collar success! :D

Your jacket looks great! I’m working on this now, but i’m having a hard time figuring out how all the collar pieces fit. Can you offer any advice?

The collar edge should meet that notch on the facing and body. Both the bottom edge and the two longer angles should be incased in body and facing when you’re done. Not sure if that’s helpful or not.

Thank you, the lack of pockets is probably the only thing wrong with the finished jacket.
