Moto Jacket

Portland, Maine,...

I created a jacket in one of Burdastyle’s first sew-alongs. I love the jacket. I did make a few muslins first to make sure that the fit was correct. I was very glad that I did this because I had to make many adjustments. It is sewn with Dupioni silk and a polyester lining. I loved the color that was used for the advertising of the jacket and tried to find some similar. I have some more photos on my blog: Moto Jacket

Material Notes

Dupioni silk, polyester, metal buttons

Thanks! I chose the buttons because for some reason they made me think of the show “Game of Thrones.” I love the show and I could have pictured these on someone’s jacket from it.

Super jacket and sewalong outcome! Your fitting efforts were worth the time invested. Love the colour of the silk fabric.

Thanks! Since I was working with silk I wanted to make sure that it was going to fit perfectly first before I cut the fabric.
