Antrim, Co Antri...

I need casual wear in my wardrobe and recently i have seen lots of patterned trousers in magazines etc. I used burdas jumpsuit bottom half for my trousers as they fit me perfectly. I have never had a more comfortable pair of trousers and i think they look good. I wore them out earlier with my mum even though the weathers horrendous and the trousers are more suited to spring/summer. I just wabted some pics outside, my mum and me where freezing and i was trying to smile in gale force winds lol.
The top is just a shortened version of burdas waterfall dress. I did a bit of altering to it though, i adjusted the shoulders so i could add sleeves. It turned out nice.
I’m including a pic of fabric i bought to make more trousers!! The thing is now i see it i think maybe tops,?? Any advice might help me decide. X

the last two photos i love, they’re taken at my sons graduation. Andrew wanted photos of him jumping in the air!! Well after loads of jumps i finally got the pic, so of course i had to have a go . The photo is an optimal illision and not photo shopped!! It looks like i’m way up in the air lol but the ground has a slope. I still got up in the air though xx

Hi oksana, well i have cut another pair of trousers out, same pattern but i used a solid colour. This fabric is a funny dark green colour and its more like linen with a slight stretch. I also cut out the top wrap section of the jumpsuit in floral fabric and added sleeves. Hopefully when i sew them up they’ll both look good lol . The plain fabric i.have loads of in different colours, all darkish colours though. I got it all for a £1 a metre when a shop closed so i can play around with it xxx

Dear Mary, you are the shining sun of Burdastyle! Really!!! I haven’t been around here for a while and, believe me, it is a joy to come back, see your pics and read your comments. You seem like flying :D And like your son, it took me also many jumps to get a pic really in the air. I don’t think my neighbor living on the floor below appreciated… But, well, it was just once. Your outfit is sporty and at the same time very elegant. And it looks so comfy! Well done!! xx

When i’m old and done i can look back at that photo and laugh x

Thanks chula, i want more pieces like this. Having clothes that fit and are easy to throw on are great. I can’t even say the 3 photos outside are the best of a bad bunch because we only took 3 lol. Normally mum takes loads to ensure i get at least 1 or 2 good ones .the jump photo is one of my favourites along with my one legged pose from my last holiday.lol x

Thanks so much ellen, i’m really loving these patterned trousers so much. I intend to make more both in fun fabric and plain. My son is 6’7 so it took a lot to get him of the ground lol. He’s a loveable cheeky chappy though.
one of the good things about both these pieces is they’re quick to sew. I call them Satisfying makes. I started the top when i came home from work yesterday and in just under 2 hours i was out the door with it on lol x

I put the photos on to show another sewer them, she had put photos of herself on jumping so i told her i would put mine on. They do make me laugh and they remind me of a wonderful day x

You’re trousers are great! It’s always nice to make a nice pair of trousers that fit well isn’t it? Plus I love the happy print! Burdastyle is loaded with lots of easy top patterns. You can even probably use a lot of leftover fabrics for tops.

I love it! I think you could make a compromise & do two tops & two pants. This way you have fun tops to pair with jeans or pants. You then have two super fun pants to wear with sweaters or neural tops. Plus it looks like good fabric for travel.

OH Mary; I laughed with your write up, so awesome. Your outfit is so modern! I like printed tops, and I love the fabric you have. I haven’t dared with printed bottoms yet, but I am thinking seriously about it, except then I’d have to have some solid tops! I liked that you show some construction pictures; so many people are asking for pictures to go with the written instructions. Your son looks so happy. I love your jump !!!!!

I am trying to push my bounderies with clothes rita, i never thought i would wear a jumpsuit or a cape but i love both. I have seen patterned trousers everywhere so i thought why not and the best thing is i love them. Mum loved the outfit as well. Another sewer put photos on of her jumping in her dress so i told her i would put mine on for a laugh x
