Got this fabric at IKEA and thought it would be nice in a dress, Iwas wrong! Will be making a skirt or something else from it.

hi, I made a skirt out of the same fabric and turned (for me) quite nice.http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/summer-skirts—2

I would have gone with a solid bodice in another material. Like green, yellow or blue for a bright fun summery look. Even hot pink would make it young and flirty or a white chiffon or satin for a soft look. It has Potential written all over it. The pattern in the front is flattering. The line of the flowers is slightly angled where in the back they drop strait down with the large green flower appearing more like a large green spot. Try to mirror the front on the back.

I have bought the same fabric, but still nothing done. I also had a dress in mind. I like the main part, but maybe for the bustpart you should have choosen another printpart (with little flowers on) of the fabric! To find the right places for the pattern on this print is my biggest worry, too.

Oh I have to say I like it like this too – I really like the print on the dress. Of course it’s your dress, and if you don’t like the way it looks you won’t want to wear it, so good luck in turning this into something you do love.

I like it. Maybe you just needed to position the bodice piece better on the pattern, but the print going diagonally up the skirt part looks good.
