MIddle-age/Christmas Cowl Top

Added Dec 13, 2010

Toronto, Canada

I bought this fabric for its lovely drapey texture, and decided a cowl neck top would be perfect. I then decided it would be my upcoming birthday present, as I turn 40 in a few days, and what better way to treat myself than with clothes that I made. I plan to wear this top for my Christmas eve dinner, mistakes and all.

I have to confess the hem looks terrible, and the understitching of the facing is a mess too. I am still going to wear it though.

This top is based on Butterick 4132, but also on the cowl top/dress by Ichigogirl

Material Notes

Synthetic silk?? (not sure what to call it, as it was labelled only as “festive” at the fabric store XD

I also don’t see the mistakes! On the contrary! I like such a shape of the collar – it’s very nice!!!

Thank you both, I chose the best shots to post, the ones where the mistakes don’t show :)) I cant recall what level of sewing skill the pattern said to have, but tThis project was too much for a beginner like me. :S
