mexican circle skirt

Southend On Sea,...

Every girl needs clothing which will make her smile, so this the one I made. A full circle skirt with invisible side zip and waistband, made from a large table cloth I was given, looks like a lined satin medium weight don’t know what the fabric is, copied Caje-une’s idea of using bias-binding for the hem, used small rik rak detailing and added felt applique mexican shapes and hand sewed them on, took ages to do the hem details as had to tack bias on first. I also added large pockets and attached them at an angle.
I love this skirt and its so nice to wear with or without a petticoat.

Thanks, if a table cloth or any recycled fabric is bigger enough you can always make a garment, and if its from the charity shop and cheap all the better
