Description

This shirt started as a tunic with a single layer of mesh and long sleeves. Unfortunately, the pattern was size right for my fairly broad shoulders and arms so I ended up remaking the sleeves and yoke only to determine that the mesh could not support itself at the seams. I remade this shirt FOUR times and ended up shortening it to a crop because the tunic look seemed inappropriate with the redesigned yoke. I think it came out for the better and is more in line with my style, but wish I customized the pattern first with a muslin instead of reworking it multiple times. I love the look of the yoke, but I would highly caution anyone interesting in using a similar fabric as anything more than an overlay.

Material Notes

Lightweight silk print with wide mesh top lined with satin seam tape.
