Matt's Goldstream Peacoat

Added Jan 18, 2014

This Christmas I made Matt his dream peacoat! He wears it everywhere and says it is super warm (a good thing) so I am pleased with the outcome. I used our brand new (released today!) Goldstream Peacoat sewing pattern (head to our pattern store to download the PDF).

I sewed the Classic Variation for Matt complete with slim-fit darts, epaulets, sleeve tabs, and flapped patch pockets. My mom is currently working on a similar coat for my Dad so I’ll probably post her results once she’s finished!

Material Notes

A very soft wool/polyester blend from Fabricland paired with evergreen polyester lining, green piping, a leather tag detail and buttons.

Yes! The hood is a removable one with buttons so it is nice if you want to look dressier most of the time and just button it on when it’s raining.

The coat is amazingly beautiful and the fabric feels luxurious. I’ll be sure to check the pattern! And the pictures are so pretty.

The photos are taken at Goose Spit in Comox Valley (on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada). Beautiful beach, isn’t it?

Yes, it is beautiful. I thought I had recognized it; we were up there a couple times this year. (the guys went golfing)
