I saw this great Marie Antoinette dress at Baby the stars shine bright, but it was so expensive so I decided to make one by myself. I had the luck to find this great red fabric at ebay. It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun to make the dress. For the pattern I modified one from the Gosu Rori. And everytime I wear it, I am really proud of it. I think it is my favorite Lolita dress.

Material Notes

Cotton, lace

Lovely :). Surely more elegant than most things Baby makes. I would wear that with almost the same pride I’d wear a dress by Victorian Maiden.

I think it’s great! Dresses like this have so much detail so it must be a lot of work, but you really pulled it off. It looks great on you. I don’t know how hard or easy adepting the pattern was, and if you intend to make more Lolita dresses, but I’ve got two tips for you: first of all, a lot of pattern company’s have patterns for historical costumes and dress up stuff, which could be very easily adepted for Lolita dresses (Burda’s are the cheapest, but Butterick and McCall’s have more) and second, (I see you’re from Germany so I’m assuming you can read German) if you don’t know it already, you should really check out www.natronundsoda.net they’ve got lots of tutorials, mostly for gothic style clothes (in German)
