I decide to " try out " a coat pattern so made it 3/4 length BUT got carried away as I had a bit of fabric left — then another bit of fabric left , and ended up with this outfit ! P. S. i still have a bit left — a shoulder bag ??
Using a straight skirt pattern I drafted the skirt with godets I also drafted the pattern for the waistcoat.
This is the first time I have made a skirt in this style — next time I shall bring the godets further forward.

Material Notes

Wool herringbone weave fabric bought in the 70’s and completely forgotten about. Price unknown . Lining was 60" wide polyester for £1 per metre !! Skirt fabric 1m. gent’s polyester suiting at £2.99.

well it looks like it was probably a hard pattern to make. I imagine that making a coat is difficault. Good job though!

Well done on completing your project. The coat and waistcoat look stunning but I’m not too fond of the godets. Maybe if it was in the same fabric of the skirt it would. I can see that it was a lot of work.
