Linen shirt and trousers

I’ve made my first shirt and trousers for my fiance. Both linen for maximum comfort in high temperatures, as it was meant to wear on our holidays.
I’ve used shirt pattern 129 05/2011 and trousers 129 4/2010. I didn’t put side and back pockets on trousers to take away the combat’s effect.

Nice job on the outfit! I am constructing a shirt for my partner at the moment and the pattern (purchased new from ebay – Kwik Sew, 2000) has no instructions. I am cobbling together the shirt in calico first and am stuck on two things which my “Complete Guide to Sewing” nor various online videos, just do not cover. What are the steps to prepare the front facing of the shirt front before attaching the collar. Also, the sleeve placket is a strange shape and does not match any examples provided in the “Guide”. Any help or pointers would be appreciated. Thank you

Hello there. I have to addmitt it was my first shirt and I had a problem with understanding every signgle step in burda instruction. The sleeve placket I worked out myself comparing it to shirts he had already. But just after finished the placked I found this videos, which helped me with all the rest of my shirt. I hope You will find them helpfull as well… http://www.ehow.com/videos-on_5392_p2_sewing-making-men_s-shirt.html

I’d love to hear how did it go, good luck !

Indeed the outfit turned out very well composed, and He loved it! All tough there is few thinks on my snag list I’ll change next time.

I’m sure he’d wear it more, only irish summer doesn’t spoil us for last 5 or so years and easy breazy outfits like that must wait for sunny holidays. Now I’m looking for nice mens coat pattern,
