Linen deux piece in denim and corn: the Infinity Column

Added Apr 6, 2015

by Irina Schwab

Aylesbury, Unite...

I decided to move on from wool and layers and try something lighter…

I had this fabric for exactly as long as issue 7/2012 of Burda style magazine was around for. I bought the fabric to make this exact set, however I never got round to it.

I started this project yesterday and finished it this morning, just on time for a quick photo shoot early afternoon :-)

It is an easy project, however the fabric I chose was really challenging. It is linen base, and has cotton fibres sewn in and out to form the pattern. When cut, the fibres pull easily, so I had to handle it with extra care. Mistakes cannot be made!

I remember this colour combination being quite hot in 2012, however denim/blue hues is the colour of the season so – double jackpot!

Worn with Wallis pearl strings and Zara studs sandals – SS2015 season. Hand made leather clutches – Lavinexclusive on Facebook and breslo.ro

I love that skirt pattern – it fits really well. Great outfit and you matched the stripes across the 2 garments – nice!

Thank you so much, MartinK. I did try my best to match lines. Quite hard, though. It is a slippery difficult fabric. Got there in the end!!

You look fabulous. Always wanted to make this outfit. I made the skirt a couple of months ago. But the whole outfit looks fab.

Oh, thank you. The skirt is a classic. Although i noticed that the front darts need to be pressed really well, otherwise you end up with a little unwanted tummy!!!
