Lemon tunic and matching Espadrille Wedges

Added Sep 12, 2016

Hesse, Germany

I got a very light silk chiffon with a lemon print – it reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana collection this season. I sewed a tunic – based on a Burdastyle pattern from April 2009 (don’t find it here, in the German issue it was pattern #121).

I made the lace for the V-neck myself with green Anchor thread and a water soluble stabilizer. There is a tutorial with pictures in my blog House of Philo (… How to make lace yourself with garn oddments…).

As I love shoe making with Espadrilles jute-soles, I had a try on Wedges. I found 9 cm heels at Etsy (there are also 3 + 5 cm and platforms available) and made matching shoes. I used chiffon pieces for the shoe cabs but lined it with strong linen). They got also Swarovski embellishment and a cotton drawstring for a lacing.

The little lemon brooch on the V-neck is completely made of leather, a Russian artist has made this. I wanted accessories but no “bling”.

Thanks for reading, Philo

Gorgeous project. I can’t make up my minds what’s nicer the shoes or the tunic so I just love both. The espadrilles are gorgeous and having them match is so clever. I love the fabric and the lace is fab. Love your handbag as well x
