Description

I used a combination of patterns for this design. Starting with inspiration from this Muubaa waterfall jacket mink (http://www.polyvore.com/muubaa_waterfall_jacket_mink/thing?id=26660622?#) . I then used McCall’s pattern M5937 to give me a basic shape. I incorporated a block pattern I’ve made previously to give me a close fitting sleeve and made many adjustments on the dummy to get the lines I wanted. It’s lined in a matching colour and facing was done in the same leather as the front.

Thanks guys… honestly, this skin was easy to work with. It was an extra soft un-sealed? (or raw) finished skin which made it very malleable and soft to sew (almost like sewing with a heavy cotton). Having a teflon foot on my machine and a leather needle also made it easy.!! No need for hammering seems or anything fiddly like that, all seems were just finger pressed open and then top stitched both sides!! I’d recommend anyone to have a go!!!

very nice work. I now how hard it is to work with leather, but you pull it of beautifully. and the color is excellent.
