Lady Grey retro top

I couldn’t wait to make this top. And I wasn’t disappointed. I dyed some eyelet blend fabric with black dye to achieve this grey linen look! I expected it wouldn’t completely dye black but I am more than happy with the result. Kind of looks like linen now! The pattern is from Burda Magazine, issue 5/2012 and is a great little timeless retro number which will be great for work with pencil skirts. I will definitely make this again, in a different colour fabric but perhaps a little smaller and make the neckline a little wider. Other than that, no other alterations needed. Another doozy from Burda! More details “here”: http://www.ooobop.com/2012/06/30/lady-grey-retro-top/.

Material Notes

Thrifted poly cotton blend eyelet fabric, dyed.

I see it now. It is sooo gorgeous! I will try it in the embroidered fabric as well. To be honest, I have the fabric but I did not want to risk it, so I tried it on linen because I had loads :-)

The fabric is beautiful. be sure you test a swatch in the wash to be sure it is colorfast!

LUV your use of dye! A provocative transformation – it reads very stylish.
