Description

I love it, it’s really simple. I found the trim in a curtain shop, it’s the sort of half lace you find in restaurant windows, and thought it would look great on the bottom of a skirt.

Meanwhile I was planning to make the Kasia Burdastyle pattern out of the charcoal grey material left over from making my dress, but once I had cut the pattern pieces out, it became clear it wasn’t going to fit.

So plan B was a very simple pencil skirt, which still seems to have taken me forever to make, need to sew faster, with a wide wasteband then the lace added to the bottom.

I was going to make an item of clothing every month, as a new year resolution, this would be April’s (you may have noticed it is actually May).

I’m a bit behind because I spent two months sewing machine-less because I was moving house, but I may at some point catch up.

Very nice, I must say! That white lace trim accents the gray of the pencil skirt fantastically!
