Konfirmationskleid_ohne_1__large

Description

When my son’s Konfirmation was planned, I wanted to wear a DIY-Dress. I had a wonderful pattern of a dress in princess-form made from red fabric with a transparent, white with little flowers, dress-long vest with ruffles. I bought red fabric, cut it out in size 38 (US 12) – and that it was.
Now, after 12 years, when I decided to try sewing again, I found the red pieces in my old fabric box. But now I couldn’t sew it in size 38, meanwhile I’m grown to 44! So I bought some checked cotton fabric and put it on the sides. It was hard work, because at the waistline and the hips I had to add more than under the armholes. But I got it and it comes out pretty well, I love that dress.
Somehow it looks like a dress from the 1960ties, doesn’t it?

Really 60ties – no doubt! Love the shape, the colour, and the mixed fabric. You adapted your old pattern, that’s right? Well done! Toll gemacht! :-)
