Several Places, ...

We are very pleased to present our first Rockabilly dress pattern to you.

The great advantage of this dress has a perfect fit due to the elastics in the back side of the bodice.

We suggest to sew a trial of the front side upfront to achieve best results with the final fabric.

We wish you a lot of fun while sewing based on our Katjusha pattern.

Please share your results with us once ready. It is our own exitement to see Katjusha being sewed by the community as well.

So I just finished putting the bodice together, and its all fitting wonderfully. So yeah, I stand by my photocopy enlargement method!

  • Photo_300_large

    Aug 25, 2010, 07.28 PMby fabled

I made this pattern larger by printing it at home, then photocopying enlargements of each page at 120% on legal paper. I’m a 38 in size generally, and the pattern printed out again 1cm larger all the way around. If anyone has access to a photocopier this is what i recommend.

Hi, Also putting in my vote to have this patterned converted to a bigger size range if you have the time!

I love this dress pattern, but do you have any plans on making it available in different sizes? I am a size 38 (6 US wise), and I have tried making the pattern bigger, but it always turns out to be a disaster! The tutorial you provided doesn’t help me since it was made for multi-size patterns.

You can try on each side 1cm seam allowance to the existing pattern to make. and you can do something longer gums.
Priobier it out! it should work. If necessary, I would adapt it to the body more precisely.

Hi ladies – This is an adorable dress, I can’t wait to attempt it! As a novice sewer (VERY novice) it would be helpful if you had instructions available — is there a link to them somewhere? Thanks!!

@nehmah, just to mention: there is no blogsite. We both don’t want to make a blog or any other own web site. We are only here at BurdaStyle.

I do have one question; where is the instruction sheet? Is it on a blog site? I checked both the Printshop and home versions but could not find any instructions. Cordially, Nehmah Thanks for the information. I now have a .pdf- conversion of the instructions. It will be well-used. N

Nehmah, you are right! The button ‘get all instructions’ which is normally placed near the face book label at this side… seemed to be done away. Now you have to print each side form the instructions, one by one.
Thank you for letting us know this!

      Thanks gillthecat! ;)
Do you have a fitting basic block of a front bodice part? That is all you need to resize this pattern. The back part is just a rectangle with elastics which could be adapted easily. To draft the circle skirt there a different tutorials and patterns here at BurdaStyle.
I am a bit tired, the time goes by and I want to make something for myself. ;) But if the demand of a little tutorial which shows how to resize the Katjusha pattern grows up, we would start to publish something like that.

      Thak you very much!
You can buy the fabric. the link is in credits.
the fabric was not expensive. it is a retro fabric. However, it is very thin. So I made two layers.
