japanese smock shirt

Got this pattern book at Christmas and love the loose fitting tops and dresses in it. Made this cute shirt with puffy sleeves. Had to reduce to a size 8 as the size 10 was far too big. It’s a very casual relaxed fit, will be wearing it in the summer. Fabric was a pressie from sister in law and buttons pressie from my sister, so a very cheap project! Cheers girls. (Just noticed in the photo that the neckline looks like it doesn’t match up…it does honest, must be the way I’m standing.)

Well done! I have an enormous collection of these Japanese pattern books, and find the styling very casual, but very refine as well. I will have to add that book to my list……also nice to see how the sizing runs in that writer’s patterns. Awesome.
