Japanese Handbag #26

I do like to try new patterns and since I bought this book in Japan I had to try to make this handbag. I have used cotton poplin which is painted so it looks like art. You can see the pattern of the colors on both sides of the fabric and I do love it. I have used cotton canvas inside, and soft leather for the upper part with the handles. This was the biggest challenge! I had to use a hole punch for belts and make tiny little holes for the decoration with the thread. Inside the handbag I made a little pocket for my phone and a pocket with zipper for the lipstick etc. on the other side. I used a magnetic snap to open and close it very easily.

Material Notes

Cotton poplin and leather

Garment Type
Cotton, Leather/Fur
