Description

I fell in love with the Vogue pattern 8667 especially because of its Jackie Kennedy-like collar. It was the first time I used a Vogue pattern (I am a Burda girl), and sometimes I felt a bit bewildered by the instructions. I made a size 12, but the next time I use this pattern again (which I will!), I will make a Small-Bust-Alteration or just use a smaller size for the bodice, which is more loose than I like it.
I used a medium weight virgin wool and viscose interlining. I lengthened the bodice by 1.5 cm and the skirt by 2 cm (my standard alterations; I’m 178 cm tall and one of the great advantages of sewing is that I can finally wear dresses with a waistline where it’s supposed to be!)
The photos were taken during a visit to the theatre, hence my slightly embarrassed look. Special credits go to my grandmother who allowed me to “borrow” her crocodile handbag – it’s from the 1950ies and goes really well with the style of the dress, I think!

Lovely dress — and yes, the collar is very Jackie Kennedy (so classic). Great job!

Yes, you should definitely try! I just realized that it requires some measuring and adjusting, since the cut is a little different from Burda’s. But the instructions are very thorough.
