Description

I was given this dark navy wool fabric a few weeks ago, and I finally got round to turn it into … something.

Fabric like this is quite rare, and I am so lucky to have been enough for something more than a plain miniskirt. I love flounce skirts, and this is not the first time I have made one.

I used the pattern in Burda style 09/2015 and spiced it up with a red zip and red silk satin lining. The hem is finished with red bias binding.

Perfect match for all my burgundy tops!

Photographed with knit top, Carven; chiffon and rib knit top, Bershka. Boots: M&S Autograph; Necklace, Lola Rose. Sunglasses: Tod’s

Thank you, Mary. It’s so frustrating, I wish I had time to make an entire autumn wardrobe. Instead – I made an easy skirt :-)

That’s definitely my fabric! What I love about heavy wool is that no matter what you make out of it, it will look and feel structured and expensive. I avoid sheer fabrics, really. The wool is my absolute favourite :-) I wish I had the time you have for more and mire sewing!!

Awww, Thanks x. The only thing that cheers me up at the moment is finishing and photographing a project in my little garden :-) It doesn’t matter what project, any project!!
