Inverted Pleat Skirt muslin

Added Dec 10, 2012

Chicago, Illinoi...

This is my first go at the Inverted Pleat Skirt from the September 2012 issue of Burda. I made a size 38 at the waist and 40 at the hips, my standard adjustment. Be aware that the skirt does not fit as shown on the model, rather it sits on the high hip. I like this one, but next time I’ll adjust the pattern so that my skirt sits at the waist.

Hehehe! Thank you! I use the term “muslin” very loosely – I really ought to say “first try with a pattern to test fit.” I haven’t used actual muslin in ages!

I should have mentioned that both sweaters were knit by me too :-)

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen real muslin before! It’s kind of a guessing game with fabrics here because I can’t read all the labels! I can’t believe you made the cardigans! You are so talented! Where did you get the patterns from? I might have to give knitting for myself a go after Christmas…! :)

Thanks, Beth Mary! The big shawl collared pattern is called Exeter. You can get it as a download from Ravelry, or from the Brooklyn Tweed website: http://brooklyntweed.net/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_4&products_id=112

The green mohair one is from a vintage Vogue Knitting magazine I have, circa 1963!
