Description

I have been dying to make something backless for ages and finally just tried. I kind of took a basic bodice shape and just did cut aways on the back (using a lot of inspiration from pinterest for the shape I wanted). I loved the bodice so much that I decided not to just sew it to the trousers and rather come up with something that would allow me to attach it to both them and a skirt to make a dress. I was first thinking of velcro but then my sewing friend gave me the idea to use a matching open ended zipper so now I can just zip the bodice off the jumpsuit and one the skirt depending on what mood I am in! I drew around an existing skirt and jumpsuit to get the bottom half patterns. Overall I am very pleased with this creation (and with my pattern matching!)

Material Notes

African wax print 100% cotton.

Thanks Mary. I have been dying to do anything backless but didn’t have a pattern but in the end I just went for it! I liked the bodice so much that I didn’t just want to keep it for the jumpsuit on it’s own so my brain went into overdrive! x
