Description

My entry for the Frankenpattern contest – run through Pattern Review http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/contestreport.pl?ContestID=217

The bodice front and back were made using Vera Venus – Sundress bodice (Vintage inspired designer/Patternmaker extraordinaire) I love everything she creates and majority are free!
I used New Look 6224 for the skirt and added Patch Pockets from Burda Young 7232 to give an all-round vintage look.

I was lucky enough to be in Paris recently and came upon the most exquisite Vintage shop (Chez Sarah). I don’t buy clothes since I’m a rather obsessive sewer and am always on the hunt for Vintage Fabric. I struck gold! Not cheap but that’s vintage. Only downsize to finding vintage fabric is either you get what’s leftover or maybe it has some flaws. That’s the price you pay for something unique.

Not often I make muslin (to damn lazy). I was pleasantly surprised, the fit was good. However; the back came down a tad bit low and showed off my middle age saggy bits. I lengthen to make for a bit more modesty….

Material Notes

Fabric Used: Gorgeous Vintage 1950’s Cotton.
Interfacing for the back
invisible ziip
