Description

A simple top made from a thrifted bed sheet. It has an elasticated waistline and a pintucked bib. Based on McCall’s 7562, although I’ve altered it quite considerably.

My aim for the holidays has been to sew shirts to wear to uni. Here’s why: I have no nice shirts for uni, but heaps of dresses. I cannot wear dresses to pracs. Despite this, I continue sewing dresses. It’s quite the predicament.

I disciplined myself on Australia Day to sit down and make a comfy top. I dug up McCall’s 7562 “Make it Tonight, Wear it Tomorrow” Pattern and set about altering View A. All in all, it’s not too bad. Quite a few technical faults, but no one cares about grubby clothes at uni! I think it treads a very fine line between a casual blouse and a daggy pyjama top. But hey, I have another top to wear :)

No, it great the way it is…I ment….(how to say it in english? :-) I’ll try…)

Maybe to narow it a little bit under the white part…so that the rest of the shirt falls free… O God…I hope this sentence makes some sence… And this one too…:)

It’s just a suggestion…I love your shirt the way you made it! Nice!!!

Thanks :) I think I’ll make another top today too. I just need to remind myself I don’t need another dress!

Oh I found some old matchbox labels on Flickr somewhere, and I thought they were cute! Mum exercises a fair bit, and can speak a bit of German, so for a joke I tacked up on her door :) I think it says ‘She thinks right, exercise is good’ – not sure thought :S

the translation is right, the first part anyway, the rest I can’t really see, but it makes sense with her holding the mop and all ^^

Thanks :) Do you mean I should reduce the baginess between the bust and the waistline? I did think about this, but I decided I didn’t feel like doing anymore alterations. I probably will in the future though.
