This dress is made of a reddish brown hound tooth material (not sure if it is wool or not). Despite the confusing instruction, I managed to finish it. It actually wasn’t that hard to make. I wanted to put a fabric-covered button on but couldn’t find a good one in my area. If I were to make it again, I would make it more fitted and perhaps, shorter.

I managed to finish mine, too, about 2 weeks ago, however did not get round to take any photos. Reading the pattern was the hardest part, I agree. I managed to finish it from my trial fabric, vine colour with beige button, although i bought initially white and black houndstook fine wool for it! The pattern works better on thicker fabrics. Do not shorten the dress whatever you do, because it loses its shape. I am petite, too, at 1.64m, however the dress looks better longer. Shorten it, and it’s a disaster! Anyway, you did a good job, given the difficulty. Funny I chose same type of fabric for it, but decided not to use it.

the waistline looks nice once you get the instructions, and i had to undo the stitches 4 times until i made it look just like the photo.

Please post your pic soon. I took mine in on both sides & shorten it too. Didn’t look too bad. I think lengthen my legs would make it look perfect. -)

I was curious if someone in the community made the same dress as I did last week for a good friends wedding (wedding in freezing winter,… not the best idea, if you ask me ;) ) but anyway… I think you did a great job and the instruction was indeed confusing with the waist part, wasn´t it? I think the instruction are telling something different when you look closer on the sketch (pleats in front????). I had to take in the side seems right under the arms and the shoulder seems, but this is always the case. around the hips, it fits perfectly. yes, and the lenght is great for women with a hight of 2 meters and high heels but not for petite ladies like me :P ..so shortening is a big issue of this dress. but the thing with the big button in front really makes a unique pattern and a great dress.

I agreed. I am thinking about moving the fold line up by the waist and taken the sides in, too.
