I just realized this is my last prom dress!!!

Gulfport, Florid...

Totally draped, no pattern prom dress. Last one as my daughter is a senior. She designed this and originally wanted apricot colored crinkle silk chiffon, but we couldn’t get it in time, so we found a really cool fabric store in Tampa and used this fabric. Poly chiffon, but hey, she LOVES it. I love the flower pattern too. Used the two sided body tape to prevent any wardrobe “malfunctions” and she said she was totally comfortable in it all night long.

Wow! the dress and your daughter are both stunning . Its amazing that its home made and the overall look is just so expensive and it stands out so much! Im curious as to the fabric store you went to (I’m in Tampa too)?

Hi, It was Marisu Moda, on Dale Mabry. Also found the fabric right near my house at Jay’s Fabrics in S. Pasadena. Jay’s has terrible customer service, however.

Wow, this is completely stunning. I’m such a fan of the flowy, goddess-y look for prom. I love the draped layers; it’s so romantic! Wonderful job!

What an amazing dress! You say no pattern involved? Did you have any drape instructions or just did that by your own? I love it and maybe one day I’ll be able to do something similar.

No pattern, just my daughter’s design idea and her telling me what she wanted. It’s a simple design, which was good. You could do it now, just trust yourself.

Hi, I just wanted to say how gorgeous this dress is! Your daughter looks stunning, she really stands out from the other girls (although all beautiful) for all the right reasons, there is just nothing to beat a home-made dress when it comes to style and individuality. I hope you continue to make prom dresses for your grand-daughters when the time comes, or better still, that your daughter carries on the torch!
