Herringbone Tailored Jacket

This is my first tailored garment and while it’s not perfect, it could be a lot worse. You can check out the whole process here, if you’re curious and /or have a masochistic streak.

I made this for my boyfriend and it was supposed to be a Christmas present but it ended up being done right around Valentine’s day instead. Better late than never, I guess.

I used Butterick 2125, which I think is from the 50s.

I also put in a fancy custom label for him to show off. I posted a little tutorial here.

Material Notes

Herringbone wool, Bemberg lining, horsehair canvas, silk thread.

Thank you! It took months so I’m hoping the second one will be easier.

Thank you! I wish there had been more resources for fitting for men. So many books and tutorials are focused only on women!

I have some books on men fashion from HAKA Schnittkonstruktionen Müller & Sohn.
As far as I know do they have also an English version. But this books are quiet expensive. You can google the website.
