Happy 50th project!

Added Sep 10, 2010

by Ralf Schmitz

Berlin, Germany

For my 50th project i wanted to do something special. Therefore the material i chose is a wonderful tweed in brown and black and beige and i added a light-lila silk with fine beige stripes for lining and backside of my waistcoat

As i like to wear my sherlock holmes outfit a lot it was not difficult to decide for another of these ensembles. This time, i tried to do the finish of the pockets in the waistcoat slightly different and i am very happy with the result. I had to line the waistcoat and the trousers completly, as this beautiful wool tweed is reall iching on my skin (silk lining is really lovely :-)

I hope you like it too and lets see what the next 50 projects bring

Material Notes

Wooltweed in brown, black and beige
Silk in light lila with beige stripes
Ivory nut buttons
matching thread and one zip for the trousers

Garment Type
Business, Classic, Vintage
Silk, Wool

My beloved husband
My cat

thank you emily.marie! the idea behind my latest few things is to creat something stylish but kind of “timeless”! the finish for that kind of cloth is the key-thing. it only works, if you really try your best to finis things!

thank you so much gabrieleyorlano! if i have to fit something to myself it is allways complicated, as for the trousers (for the tops i have a fittingdoll) but it worked out fine for this outfit!

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! I’m absolutely flabbergasted… I have to agree your style, choice of fabric and color are exquisite. I really love the little details, they make it so rich. I hope (if I ever reach that number in projects) to have achieved such a level of professionalism. I hope I find some nice Tweed too, to get started on something similar.

I am so impressed! First, you chose a GORGEOUS fabric! It is so classic, but still modern. I also love the lining! We have been looking for one like that, but no success… And your pockets! They are so neat! And I know how tricky they can be! Also, the finishing touches are great! The pants fit very very well too… For a 50th project, it is definitely a huge celebration. Herman says (my Mister) that he is very impressed too, and that he also like the shirt and the tie! Give a hug to your cat from me ;)

dear laurwny! this means a lot to me, as i have been “hunting” for that kind of material for a while. please tell your mister, that i love chosing shirts and ties for my finished outfits. this tie is vintage from 1950! My cats sends you a big MIAOUW!
