Coolum Beach, Au...

For my daughter’s graduation I adapted Style pattern. It had a long full skirt and seperate bodice. The bodice was also typically a curved shape and Sabrina wanted a straight cut bodice. For the first time ever I made a ‘dummy’ in calico…so I could get a good fit. Loving blue as much as she does, Sabrina chose a pale blue rose patterned cotton lawn for the skirt, so we teamed it up with a navy blue cotton voile. When I cut the bodice a touch short, I had to get creative with the cornflower blue voile. I think it came out quite good. I think she was happy with the end result.

Material Notes

Navy Blue roses on pale blue background cotton lawn. Navy blue cotton voile top half and lining. Cornflower blue cotton voile all from Spotlight.

That’s a gorgeous fix to a common mistake, looks completely like an intentional design feature!
