Geometric body con dress

This dress actually consists of a top and a skirt I made of the same fabric so is actually three items in one.
It is made from two-way stretch jersey fabric and I chose the geometric pattern to give me a more curvy look than I actually have.
I stitched the jersey with a slight zig-zag stitch.

Material Notes

I was planning on getting a yard and a half of snake print jersey. A yard is about 4 inches shorter than a meter and I wanted to line up the print and all that so I need extra. And if there are any spare bits left I am sure I can use them for something. A tiny matching t shirt for my tiny little man or something… It will take me awhile to get it together. In two weeks we do our yearly migration south to Nicaragua, but we are detouring in Oregon for 1 month so I can work. So I will not be able to get to this until October. I HATE waiting…

Sounds good! Shame about the wait though, I also hate waiting when I have a plan in mind! Good things come to those who wait though!

Thank you! That really is not very much fabric. Perfect. I am going to make this…

Be clever about pattern layout though, it used pretty much every scrap of fabric in the meter! You could get one and a half just to be sure. Good luck!
      P.s. what’s the fabric like? :)

Forgive the personal questions. What size are you and how much fabric did you use? Did you use an existing pattern or draft your own? I have been thinking about your dress and then I saw some fabric that I think would be perfect!

Hi! So I am a 6-8 and I used one meter of fabric for the whole thing.
I made the pattern for the skirt myself, just a tube which gets wider in the middle.
And for the top I used the long-sleeved top pattern available to members on the Angela Kane website: http://angelakane.com/.
