Fuchsia jersey dress with gathers

Added Jul 1, 2013

Athens, Greece

Hi!!! This is the first project I photographed in Athens, I already feel nostalgia for the gardens of the house I just left forever!!!! The model is number 105 from the fantastic burda issue 12-2004 (shown at the last pictures). I didn’t discovered now this model: I had made it several times and I totally adore it! This particular dress was made 5 years and 8 kilograms ago:) Thanks God I never throw anything away!! I had some pieces of the fabric left and I added a triangle at the front to make more room. Now it is wearable again!
Edit: The added piece is marked at the last picture!

Lovely as usual my dear! I can’t see where the added ‘triangle’ is – good work! Brilliant idea too.

Thank you dear! The trianle is visible in reality, but does not look weird.

It certainly doesn’t look weird – I can’t even see it! Can you give me a clue where to look for it – I think I may want to use your triangle method in some of my own out-grown projects!!!!! :)

At the first left picture it is slighly visible at the center front. It is about 10-15cm wide

It really was a fantastic issue, that red dress is still in my dreams:) It is so unusal to see you in pink but I must say this hue of the colour suits both you and the pattern and all the proportions are nice:)

Thanks a lot for your comments. I think it is still tight and I think about adding a second triangle at the back. What’s your opinion?
The red dress is in my dreams too, I hope I will manage to make it in black this winter. I also plan to make the model 107 from this isuue these days:) I also like the plaid coat with the ruffles. I must hire a seamstress:P

If you don’t feel comfortable enough in the dress but yet is going to wear it, then, of course, it’s worth making some more repairing. But as for my personal experience, re-made things are not much in use, I wear them a couple of times and it always reminds me about some patches or whatsoever, and then they are buried in bottom of the wardrobe to wait for lost weight or some other occasion which never comes:)
Among dresses of that issues my favourites are #105(our dreamt red dress) and #101 with fur stole, of course:). #103 seems to be universal and can be made of any fabric. I also like #107 and thought about making it but I think there can be a trouble with the decollete, the joint of the sleeve and neckhole can fit poorly so the neckline can puff up.

I love the models you mentioned: The model #101 is elegant and the #103 is in my wish list. Very soon we will know if the #107 has trouble. I guess you are right about the decolte but I want to give it a try because I love this neckline. I had traced it in 34 back in 2004 but never made it. Now I will retrace it in 38:)

I’ll be eagerly waitng for the result. The dress is worthy, no doubt:)
