Flouncey Shortsies

I pretty much just wanted a ridiculous pair of shorts which looked like a very full circle skirt! they are fun and you can run around in them and not be worried about anything. The most important thing is….i can sit cross legged in them, because thats how i sit almost all the time no matter where it is!!

Just divided my waist measurement by 4, then used that to make a 1/2 circl skirt piece for each front and back (so each leg is the equivalant to a full circle) and drafted the crotch onto one side, cut 4! Done!!! I aslo made a facing, and in seam pockets, as well as adding a little double bow at the front.

I found this a humourous conversation with a friend:
‘Your skirt is glowing…?’
‘Firstly, thats my phone in my pocket’
‘I thought skirts dont have pockets?’
‘Secondly, they are shorts!….and you can have pockets in what ever you like if you make them!’

I think skorts…are technically the ones which are like a pair of shorts with a skirt flap over the front? im not entirely sure! i could be wrong. but i do intend to make some in the near future. thank you for the lovely comment! __

that is a brilliant idea for my girls who are aged 9, 5 and 3…..they don’t the keep your knees together when wearing skirts yet….might try this, i’ve been making skirts with shorts attached (modesty knickers we call them)
