Floral Swishy Dress - finished!

Stirlingshire, U...

As promised, here’s a pic of the final dress with me in it. This was me getting ready for its first outing to my dance group party. I dance swing, jive etc… Hence the reason for my affinity with circle skirts! :-)

I think I have posted it in the wrong space but I couldn’t find the edit and update bit.

Thanks very much! It’s actually made up completely by myself. The skirt is a circle – no pattern required. The bodice was created by pinning tissue onto my shape until it sat correctly, snipping off and adding on more tissue as required and drawing on where the fold, darts and seams should be. So I guess I kinda created my own pattern! Have a look at my blog for more details x

OMG! When I saw your thumbnail, I just had to take a closer look and post a ‘great job’ comment! You look amazing and the fit is fantastic. The smile on your face just says it all! Looking forward to seeing more :)

Oh, thanks so much! I’d still classify myself as a beginner, so it is really nice to get some encouragement! I really appreciate it I love your projects btw (I had a wee nosey) they all look very sharp and classy :-)

Lol! Yep! I did dance all night… Lots of spinning and twirling too. I’m glad I got a pic before it ended up all sweaty and crumpled! Haha

Aww thanks so much! I absolutely loved wearing it and everyone was very complimentary about it at dancing. It moves really well and was very robust! Lol! My chest size is the main reason I have always wanted to learn how to sew. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get any clothes to fit from shops. :-)
