Fleece-jacket for a kid (age: 4)

Added Oct 22, 2010

Allschwil, Switz...

My daughter wanted a fleece JACKET to open all the way instead of a sweater to be pulled over her head. I found a Burda pattern and changed the sweater to a jacket as she insisted on a hood. Then I also added pockets as she had asked for those too (you see, I am taking orders ;o) ). The ends of the sleeves I wrapped with a gros grain band to be able to change the lenght of the sleeves when she’s growing. The fabric is fantastic: outside long haired fleece inside a thick cuddly fleece (similar to a thick carpet).

Material Notes

Fleece, zipper, grosgrain band

Better than any child’s coat I have seen while browsing the tourist shops here! She is a great little stylist…

Looks great! Do you pattern draft or rely on patterns like Ottobre and farbenmix?

Thank you. I used a Burda pattern, the one I used is linked in the text.
