Where did you find so many feathers? It’s so pretty. And a question from a novice : Is it very hard to bone things? God bless, M

Boning is a pretty simple. You just have to remember to leave a seam allowance on either end and plan how you are going to finish the garment

It reminds me of an Alexander McQueen dress from a few years ago. Love it then, love this now!

what did you do to secure them?? glue? hand stitch? or did you use a bias binding trim? I’m just currious i’ve always wanted to try this technique but i’m afraid…i want to self teach myself and not have to spend 40,000 dollars to go to school for it. would you help?

I bought the feather already sewn with bias tape. (I can give my source if you like) I did stitch the just out side of the bias tape because it was also glued the it would have been to thick in the seam. I than merrowed each seam and than edge stitch with the seam facing up to keep flat.

The under dress is tiered about every 4" and I sandwiched the in the feather in each seam. The skirt part of the dress is a full circle. I took over 12 yds of feathers
