First Sorbetto in White

One of the first pieces of clothing I sewed. Used some sleeves left over from a failed project and miraculously, they fit! Cut a straight size 8 as the size chart matched my measurements exactly, but had a few fit issues – it obviously needs a bit of length, but it also rides up my bust and pools in my upper chest. Even though it is tight enough to limit arm movement, it feels like it is falling off my shoulders all the time. Thoughts? I’d like to make another but want a good fit too.

Material Notes

Old bed sheet (from linen cupboard)
White poly bias binding (from op shop)

I think lots of people have had fitting problems with this. I certainly did! If you google for colette sorbetto fitting there are tonnes of blog entries with tips and advice on how to alter it. I have’t figured out a way to make it fit me nicely yet, but I did give up after two goes, so I probably just need to try again! I really love your idea with the sleeves, it transforms the whole thing!

Thanks! I’ll have to do a bit of research I think :)
