First Dress - Nani IRO

Pattern: Nani IRO 2007 – French Sleeve (PDF)

This is the first dress I made! The pattern is from NaniIRO’s 2007 sewing collection. It is in Japanese but with a bit of guessing I followed it alright. The dress was too long when finished and in a not very complementing style… I looked like I was wearing a big rice bag! I decided to cut it 25cm shorter and was inspired by Verypurpleperson’s Leia dress to sew a few rows of elastic shirrings to change the waist shape. I also changed the design of the collar to a tiny V-neck, it was flat and didn’t suit me very well.

Overall I’m quite happy about it. I wish to make more clothes this summer (it’s coming in the southern hemisphere, hooray! ).

Love the fabric! The shirring was a good touch!
