Great Yarmouth, ...

I got a chance to wear this dress which I’ve made some time ago. We had a lovely day here today (apparently the hottest one this year) and we had a day out at the horse races….yes, again, only because the racecourse here was doing a promotion and gave away free tickets, which we were lucky to win :-))
the pattern is from the march magazine (side gathered dress) and I have used a stretchy cotton. I really like this dress, it is a great pattern, which I would definitely recommend

You look fabulous in this Chula. Your fabric is beautiful. I might just have to make this pattern. Its good to try something a bit different, I tend to stick to the sheath dress.

yes, it is good to try different styles sometimes. Although this one doesn’t really differ from what I normally go for, but my fake knot dress was a big change and I love it on me, so you should give this a go. The pattern wasn’t at all difficult to follow, just make sure you stick to stretchy fabrics. Thanks for the lovely comment!

such a lovely compliment, thanks a lot Mary! I was especially pleased yesterday, cos on the way to the racecourse, a young woman standing at the bus stop commented on my dress and was even more complimentary after my husband told her that I made the dress myself. And we all know, what a great feeling that is, don’t we ? xx

Fabulous print and colors! Many garments in all shades of yellow these days on burdastyle! I have several yellow pieces of fabric but it’s hard to make this color look good on me. This pattern is gorgeous too! Do you think that a fabric with no stretch would be ok!

aren’t they just? I immediately liked those colours. I know what you mean though, yellow can be tricky, maybe you should try and combine your pieces with darker colours?
Like I said, the pattern is worth trying but I should have mentioned, stretch fabric is a MUST!
Thank you for your sweet comment!
