Description
This fun jacket pattern has extremely exaggerated lapels which make for an intriguing sculptural, layered look. We decided to combine soft faux fur and wool crepe for this project, for a Bohemian look. Worn over a Liberty of London for Target goddess gown, a jacket can lend an element of cool to the silhouette.
The original pattern calls for black wool herringbone with a velvet reverse, and is trimmed with petersham ribbon. We left out the ribbon trim and made a lining pattern tracing the pattern pieces of the jacket. The two front lapels are “lined” in the faux fur. Check out BurdaStyle member stickman34’s version for an edgier look.
Material Notes
Faux fur, wool crepe, snap for closure.

Has anyone tired to make this in a plus size? I might find a similar pattern from another maker in a plus size, and try the fur lining idea.

I picked it up at B&J Fabrics in Manhattan— it’s possible they ship internationally…
