Fabiani couturier cape with welted pockets and back opening ...

A couturier cape by master Fabiani – so simple in style, so much hidden hand work!

I simply could not wait for a sunny day. The weather is so unpredictable, I thought it would be a good idea to test my cape in the British everlasting rain

The pad stitching on all pieces has taken ages, however I got there in the end, and I am really pleased with the result.

Instead of lining I used another wool fabric for added warmth. Given that the under layer gets revealed, it is probably a good idea. All stitches must be out of sight.

The cape features welted pockets, opening at the back and closure with three press studs, which makes it really unusual.

Purple suede boots: Charles Jourdan
Purple silk shirt: Dolce & Gabbana
Skirt: Burda style slit skirt, 09/2013
Hat: Eastex

Gorgeous cape irina and I love how you styled it. The pattern is fabulous and worth every penny you spent on it. As my mum says if somethings worth it then it’s worth paying for. You ended up with an amazing cape . Happy new year xx

Thank you, Martin. I got this on ebay about 2 -3 years ago. It was sold as vintage uncut, it even had the original Vogue label. I remember paying a fortune for it!
