Eyelet Burda Blouse and McCall's Jeans

Added Apr 5, 2013

I liked this eyelet fabric and I used Burdastyle’s 4/2012 #116 pattern for the blouse. This is my 4th pair of jeans this year using McCall’s M6610 pattern. Making my own jeans is getting to be kind of addictive.

Material Notes

1 yard of eyelt, three buttons, interfacing, 1.5 yards of denim, 7 inch zipper, denim button, two spools of thread

Spring, Summer, Fall
Garment Type
Cotton, Denim

this all looks so professional! I love how the eyelet doesn’t go all the way to the shirt’s hem. I never tried jeans because I’ve had a hard time with a princess seam dress, are they easier?

Thank you! I think the fly zipper can be a challenge at first but I like this McCall’s pattern because it really walks you through the process. I tried a princess seam dress before and I think the jeans may be easier. Take care!

I think that once you have your jeans tailored to how you want them, you look slimmer and feel more confident knowing you made them yourself. Thanks for checking out my project and good luck with more jeans!

Thank you Mary. There’s something a bit sexy but sweet when it comes to eyelet fabric. I’m a little obsessed with it. Thanks for the comments!

This blouse is darling and the jeans have a very nice fit. I haven’t even thought of making jeans, I’m not good at topstiching. Yours look professional!

Thanks! Topstitching can be a bit of a challenge at first but then it gets easier. When you make your first pair of jeans you’ll be surprised at easy it can be.
