A line cocktail dress 03/2016 #122
This is a beautiful pattern, which I have made up as a day dress, but it could equally be a special occasion dress.
I’ve based the colour way on a designer style I came across and I also figured that green would be a lovely, fresh contrast to the blue fabric I had already chosen for the skirt. That said, the green is viscose lawn fabric, which creases terribly, but was worth it. I added some boning to the bodice and the pattern was made easier to follow by having step by step instructions and pictures in the magazine.

Material Notes

Viscose lawn bodice and stretch cotton sateen skirt.

Defo make this! Of course it is Autumn in Oz…. So no need for summer dresses. It’s a really versatile pattern with lots of scope.

Great pattern, this issue will hit the shelves in Aussie in about 3 months!! It looks like a skirt and top but is so much better, contrasts work well too. I would like to make this.
