Easter 2013

Nashville, Tenne...

I modified the #118 pattern from burda and had fun adding a few of my own touches to this dress. I wanted a more full dress so instead of doing the aline skirt I created a gathered skirt (to me the gathered skirt looks more Easter-y!) And I added sleeves to the bodice for a more modest and finished look. My favorite part is the exposed zipper on the back! its a fun little surprise and I couldn’t believe I could find one with the exact color I was looking for!

It is a little difficult to see but I added piping to the seams on the bodice and then piping around the waist of the dress near the gather. I love that the paneling at the bottom of the skirt really make the colors pop in the dress! I loved wearing it this Easter and I’m excited to keep wearing it all spring/summer!!

Thank you! I used the #118 Sheath dress for the bodice of the dress and then just created a gathered skirt and sleeves on my own!

Lovely! I love the blue contrast trim around the neckline and sleeves. The panel on the bottom of the skirt is the perfect addition. Great job!
