Dungaree for my brand new nephew

A month earlier than expected my nephew was born a couple of weeks ago. He is only little but has already begun his life with a big bang, and so I thought that I wanted to make him something.

Material Notes

As often occurs, After a few years of frequent wearing, my beloved pair of Japanese dennin trousers had to go…But, as we all know, an old pair of jeans is much softer than a new one…so, I decided to re use the material . For the inside face of the top, I used a colourfull thin cotton, which served me to hide the stitched from joining the bottom and top tarst both in the back and front.

As i often do for children clothing, i used snaps (two large one for the straps and 4 small ones for the sides). I added a detail by fixing two crayon buttons on the shoulders…

Garment Type
Cotton, Denim

That would be great when you have a chance. No hassle. I have a few patterns that I would scan for you in exchange. Thanks, Gráinne.

Hi Cristina. The Dungarees are amazing. Did you draft the pattern yourself or use a commerical one as I would love to make them for a Friends Baby. Gráinne

It was an experiement…. the top bits from one place, the trousers from another, modified and put together… let me see if i can scan the bits and pieces over the weekend…. not sure about the size but i am thinking from 3 months, maybe…. (this is a guess based on the baby bodies I bought for him…)
