Double Gauze Kimono

Added Jul 26, 2016

I just finished making up this kimono using Shannon Fabric’s Embrace double gauze in ivory. I wanted a kimono that could double as a beach cover-up and as a piece that I can wear on the street in the summer for extra coverage. I used this Kimono sewing pattern from the 02/2010 issue and added some trim to the sleeve hems. I also omitted the front and hem bands to make the kimono more lightweight and breezy!

Also be sure to check out the tutorial post I did for Martha Stewart on making this kimono. Read it on Martha Stewart here!

Hi there, and thank you :) Unfortunately a site glitch (that is currently being worked on and fixed) isn’t uploading new projects to the page page. We will let everyone know once this is fixed!

Hi Meg- Looks like a quick and easy project! Perfect for our Embrace double gauze. The trim really adds a pretty touch, too!

This is gorgeous Meg and your photos show it of perfectly. I love kimonos and have made a few from burda. I love your fabric choice and as you say this will work equally well on the beach and your everyday wardrobe. Love it xx
