Dirndl Blouse

Added Jun 8, 2009

Somewhere, World...

This is a blouse to wear underneath a dirndl dress. I made up the pattern as I went along. In the last picture you can see what it looks like when worn with a type of dirndl that’s a little less innocent than the pattern available here on Burdastyle … Sadly I didn’t dare to sew the dress myself, too.

Material Notes

100% lightweight cotton, elastic straps, cotton lace

The outfit is great! I’m very impressed by thiskind of blouse, the neckline is very neatly finished, and the shape is good for exposing goodies:D I must do something like that for me:D

It is a cute top! I am feeling my age when I say I was glad I heard it was worn with a dress. (Must be from having a teenage daughter and thinking “You aren’t walking out of the house in that outfit, young lady!”) Kind of had that Daisy theme going on as in Daisy Mae from Dogpatch or Daisy Duke from Dukes of Hazzard. The whole outfit looks very good on you. I bet you could make the dress, too! Great job on the top!

Great job on the blouse. I wasn’t sure at first if we were looking at a cotton nighty top/bra or whatnot, but I see how it works very well with the dress. Maybe next time you will get up the courage to sew the dress. I’m sure you can do it! None the less, looks fabulous!
