I made this bag from a very short denim skirt. First I sewed it together across the bottom hem then made it a square bottom by turning the points of that hem inside and sewed it at 90 degrees to that bottom hem. You can trim the excess fabric off if you like then make a lining with pockets to suit your needs. This was a fiddly learning process as I didn’t have a pattern or a clue how to do it! Add handle before sewing the lining to the outer bag. Then decorate

Material Notes

denim skirt
material for lining
old woven belt for handle
sash for decorative belt
velcro for pocket closure

This is my daughter, I liked the bag so much I asked her to make me one too. It’s even better!! I needed a big bag that had lots of pockets, was washable, easy to find things in and looked good. It is WONDERFUL! Thanks Darl!
