Dark Blue Dark Night

Added May 12, 2013

by Ralf Schmitz

Berlin, Germany

This jacket is again for my lovely friend Martina! She uses for most of here ways her bike to go around and even it is spring now finally in berlin, it can still be very cold in the mornings and at night.

Here is the solution for this problem: a lightweighted but windproofed and warm and cothy jacket. Made out of a coublefaced hightec material. It looks like felt outside in dark blue and very soft and cuddley in dark beige inside.

The pattern is done by me and i have used quite a long time to finish the jacket, as (due to the thickness of material) i had to handstich a lot of seams……..

hope you all like it!

Material Notes

hightec material in doubleface optic outside dark blue inside dark beige, thread, 3 zippers and strechy material for the waist

Spring, Fall, Winter
Garment Type
Bohemian, Casual, Classic, Rock

Oh, it looks so cozy:)) The double face material is very time consuming, but at the end is sooo worth it. One of my favorite material. Good job Ralf:)

Hi Ralf, I can now really appreciate just how talented you are as I’ve just started to put together my first dress. It’s a far cry from Brockbears, they are so easy in comparison! I’ll post my ‘effort’ soon! Hope you are well and happy sewing! Sallyx

      Hi Ralf,
Completed dress, and at a guess at least two sizes too big! (ha ha!) My total inexperience of pattern reading and measuring I think had a lot to do with it. I have learnt loads though, and no.2 attempt is soon to be started.
